Notes for Margaret (Spouse 2)
This data come from a long paper prepared by Paul C. Maroney. No date recorded but it had to be before 1983. There are several shorter hand written notes. We have Record of Death showing Oct. 12 1893.

MARGARET MARONEY Margaret was a sister of Daniel W. Maroney. She was born in Ireland, the date of birth may be, from records, in the year of 1813 and a certified copy of her death shows her death occurred October 12, 1893 and her age at death being 80 years. She is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chelsea, Michigan and her burial spot is designated by a marker which states that she was the "wife of M. Keelan", however, her name is shown as Margaret Wall. The death record gives the name "Margie".

Paul Maroney found her grave with headstone. It is east of Sherry, west of Martin, north of Weber and south of John Liebeck. The stone says she "Died Sept.15, 1893 age 80 years". At the bottom it says "May her soul rest in peace Amen".

Paul and I have learned that Margaret Maroney was married six (6) times. This is a list of her husbands.

William Hannon. Married September 19, 1835. This is from the book on marriages at the McKune Library, Chelsea, Michigan. County Clerk's record #O 191.
--- Gallaway. No other information.
--- O'Brien. No other information.
--- O'Calahan. No other information.
Michael Wall. His second marriage. His burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, north and west of Chelsea. Headstone shows: Native of the Parish of Miearn, Ireland -- Died November 30, 1867, age 55 year 8 month 6 day. Stone also reads: Erected by his wife Margaret Wall. His first wife was Mary Wall, native of Cork County, Ireland. She died February 4, 1860.
Micheal Keelan. His second marriage. His burial is also in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. His first marriage was to Bridget Keelan. She died March 28, 1872 age 42 years.

Paul Maroney records that he cannot learn the dates of marriage of MARGARET MARONEY to any of the above shown husbands, other than the first -- William Hannon. One will have to assume those dates by referring to the dates of deaths of Mary Wall and Bridget Keelan.

Too, with all of my research, nowhere do I learn that Margaret Maroney never had any children by any of her husbands. Paul Maroney found that Margaret lived mostly in Lyndon and Sylvan Townships. An obituary says "Mrs. Margaret Keelan, more familiarly known as Mrs. Wall, died at her home in this place, Friday last, after a long illness. The funeral was held at St. Mary's church Sunday afternoon.

In a letter dated February 12, 1981 to Paul Maroney from Richard Barry he says, "I remember father telling me that he and Jim (Barry) used to tease Mrs. Michael Maroney, I think her name was Margaret by asking "and where were you born, Mrs. Maroney?" and she would reply each time, "I am from county Clare, where you can see the foot prints of the 'little folks' in the dew on the clover, and where the cattle and horses grow so large that they break down the roads taking them to the market.""

Her cause of death, per the death certificate was Brights Disease.
Her parents names are listed as John Maroney, mother -- unknown.
Burial was made in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Catholic, Chelsea, Michigan.14
