Winona Post Online - 7 May 2003:

"Thaddeus G. "Ted" Glubka, 92, of 627 East Third St., died Monday, May 5, 2003, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

He was born February 22, 1911, in Winona, to Edward and Pauline (Glyczinski) Glubka. He married Helen M. Ramczyk on September 9, 1939, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. She died November 30, 1999.

Thaddeus was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and Westfield Golf Club. He was employed at and retired from Universal Studios.

Ted was an accomplished stained glass artist and was especially gifted in the restoration of church windows created in the early 1900s. This type of art is similar to oil painting on glass rather than canvas. Ted was one of the very few throughout the country involved in this type of stained glass painting. He received the accolades of many religious clerics for his work. Ted was also a gifted woodcarver and many of his works adorn the homes of friends and relatives, as well as his own. Along with his many artistic endeavors, Ted was also an avid bird watcher.

Ted is lovingly survived by a daughter, Lynn (Robert) Czaplewski, of Winona; four grandchildren: Vicky Czaplewski, of Eagan, Minn., Matthew (Sally) and Mark (Laurie) Czaplewski, both of Rochester, Minn., and Scott Czaplewski, of Kahului, Hawaii; five great-grandchildren: Chloe, Robert, Taylor, Ryan and Reid; and a brother, Edward (Mary) Glubka, of Winona.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Daniel and Lambert, and a sister, Doris LeVasseur.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, with Rev. Daniel R. Dernek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Bruns, Reid Bruns, Harry Lanenberg, Robert Nichols, Morris Nichols, and David Czaplewski.
