Notes for Daniel Walter Barry
This is from research done by Paul C. Maroney prior to 1983 and from the obituary card at the McKune Memorial Library, Chelsea, Michigan, 48118.

DANIEL W. BARRY is reported by Paul to have become the Washtenaw County Drain Commissioner for ten years. He worked for the Michigan Central Rail Road (M.C.R.R.) for 40 years. He and his wife Mary had 9 children. He was born in 1844 lived, died January 10, 1915 and is buried in Northfield Township.

"Daniel Barry and Paul Maroney's Father Clarence Maroney were the very best of friends. Too, both were democrats as Daniel ran for the office of Washtenaw County Drain Commissioner, 'Dad' always helped as much as possible to help in Daniel's election. He served in that capacity for ten years and if my memory serves correctly, he held that office at the time of his death. He had a most pleasing personality, and as I remember him, he always had a smile on his face. One Sunday afternoon I took my family in my car over to the Barry home, probably about 1914. As far as I can recall, that was the only time that I visited the Barry home."
