Notes for Martin Meyerdirck
The children whose names are included as the children of Martin and his wife are all buried in the Meyerdirck mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery in West Baltimore. The only child I am certain of is Anna, the only child to reach adulthood. I knew her as Tanta Wehr.
Also in the mausoleum is Johannes, son of John and Betty Meyerdirck, April 24, 1891 - July 1, 1891. There is an additional John born September 9 1898, died October 29, 1898. My guess is that these are Frerich Wilhelm's half brothers. John and Betty Meyerdirck had one surviving child, Marie Meyerdirck who remained in Germany. Her two children were Hildaguard Elizabeth and Otto Fritz. Otto Fritz died the last day of the war. It was Marie Meyerdirck after whom Edna Marie was named. I also think that it was Marie Meyerdirck who attended the Visitation Academy in Baltimore which is why Edna Marie and Dorothy Meyerdirck were sent there to school. Frerich Wilhelm said that the nuns made such ladies of their girls.3
